the sun

many admire the sun

for the warmths it gives

but never for how long it shines

it has been giving and giving to us relentlessly

since the dawn of time

every single day

it shines its beam of light upon us

just so we can go about and live our life

scientists say

that one day

the sun will explode

that after all of these years of supplying for us

it will inevitably burst

this is how we repay the sun’s service?

by predicting its imminent death?

i suppose the saying

‘nothing good ever lasts forever’

is true

i guess that eventually

all of its years of giving but never receiving

will catch up to it

all of its years of shining bright for everyone else

will lead to it’s burn out and explosion
